Extended Sermons
“Teachesas Christ’s ambassadors we represent something bigger than ourselves, we carry His presence, message, character into the world” → We carry Christ’s message and character into every relationship, every conversation, and every environment we step into. When you walk into a room with humility, truth, and the gospel, you’re not just a Christian doing your best. You are someone Christ has chosen to attach His name to. That means: Your conversations matter more than you think. Your kindness carries divine weight. Notice Jesus does not say, “Whoever listens to your sermon receives Me,” or “Whoever agrees with your theology receives Me.” He says, “Whoever receives you receives Me.” This means that the way people respond to us is spiritually connected to how they respond to Him. We are not merely messengers delivering information — we are representatives carrying His presence. Ambassadors do not invent their own message. They carry the message of the One who sent them. As Christ’s ambassadors May we step into every day with the awareness that we are carriers of Christ’s presence. May our lives make Him visible, our words make Him known, and our actions make Him believable. And may those who receive us — in our homes, workplaces, neighborhoods, and churches — encounter the living Christ through the way we represent Him.
“Teaches no matter unimportant you think you are, your mission carries divine weight, authority, and purpose.” → When you step into your assignment, you don’t just carry a message — you carry Christ Himself. So walk in your calling with confidence, Not arrogance. You may feel small, unnoticed, or unqualified, but Jesus says heaven recognizes you as a carrier of His presence. When you speak, Christ speaks through you. When you serve, Christ serves through you. When you show up, Christ shows up with you. Stop measuring your impact by how people respond and start measuring it by who you represent. You are not walking into your assignment alone — the Father and the Son walk with you, speak through you, and work in you. Step boldly into the mission God has given you, because it carries divine weight, divine authority, and divine presence.
“Even today, when you open your home to someone who needs a place to stay, or invite a neighbor over for coffee you are effectively opening a door for Christ’s love to be seen, felt, and experienced through you.” → When you open your home, you’re not just offering a couch, a meal, or a cup of coffee — you’re offering a glimpse of the Kingdom. So when you invite a neighbor over for coffee, you’re not just being friendly — you’re becoming a vessel of Christ’s presence. When you welcome a coworker who feels out of place, you’re not just being kind — you’re letting Jesus be seen in your kindness. When you make space for someone who’s hurting, lonely, or searching, you’re not just offering comfort — you’re offering Christ Himself. When you open your living room for prayer, you’re not just hosting a gathering — you’re opening sacred space where Christ Himself draws near. When you make room at your table for someone who feels out of place, you’re not just sharing a meal — you’re showing them the welcome of the King who prepares a table for us. When you welcome a young believer into your living room for discipleship, you’re not just hosting a conversation — you’re turning your home into a classroom of the Kingdom. When you let a struggling family member stay in your guest room, you’re not just providing shelter — you’re providing a refuge where Christ’s compassion becomes tangible. When you host a small group or Bible study, you’re not just organizing a meeting — you’re turning your home into a sanctuary where Christ speaks and strengthens His people. When you host a missionary or pastor, you’re not just giving them a bed — you’re partnering with Christ in the work of the gospel. Every open door becomes a sermon. Every shared meal becomes a testimony. Every warm welcome becomes a picture of the God who welcomes sinners home.
Additional Note & Applications
Warns how you can’t be a Christian without identifying with other Christian
Teaches how as believers were are a part of God’s chain of revelation.
Teaches how believers are never to underestimate small acts of hospitality, generosity, or encouragement.
Displays how Jesus stands so fully with that He considers your treatment His own.
Note: Because Jesus here proclaims apostolic authority. Anyone who says, “I never really cared much for Paul. I don’t really like Peter that much or John.” Realize what you’re saying, because Jesus is saying, “He who receives you, receives Me. Conversely, he who rejects you is really rejecting Me.” It’s apostolic authority and the chain of command.
