Extended Sermons
“Warns against playing it fast & loose with scripture, looking for loopholes to wiggle out of the things we don’t like.” → Let us be among those who do not shrink from the truth, but instead embrace it with courage and humility. Rather than searching for loopholes or crafting excuses, may we respond with open hearts—ready to act, to change, and to grow. When clarity shines forth, let us walk boldly in its light, no matter how challenging, convicting, leads to a deeper freedom and purpose. Stand firm, for the path of integrity is never walked in vain.
“Even today, if couples are going into marriage with questions about divorce, they’re already starting off on the wrong foot. Divorce should not be thought about, talked about, or even brought into the equation.” → The best way to start a marriage is to take the option for divorce off the table and completely unacceptable concept in your home. If your going into marriage with prenuptial agreements, escape clauses, no fault divorce, your already setting your marriage up for failure Seeing divorce as an option weakens your commitment, resolve, and steadfastness. Going into marriage with the option for divorce makes calling it quits all the more easier than doing the hard work to make a solid marriage last. If divorce is off the table, the couple have to do the hard work to become better, happier people, both for themselves and for each other. If divorce is instantly the go-to, their problems might temporarily be solved – but they will have sacrificed the greatest treasure in their lives in the process.
