16:27 For (Reasons why picking up the cross and losing your life for Christ is  wise-(24-25) the Son of Man (i.e. Jesus. Expresses a messianic title signifying Messiah’s human origins.) is going to come (On the day of judgment) in his Father’s glory (Divine power & authority.) with his angels, (Suggests angels who will serve as agents in the Eschatological ingathering of believers.-{Rev. 25:31-33}) and then he will reward (repay, compensate) each person (believer) according to what he has done. (suffered, sacrificed, lived-out, put-off, dedicated. In context disciples  who have denied themselves and taken up their cross to follow Jesus.-{Vs. 24-26} In a wider to context to be fulfilled at the Judgement Seat of Christ, where those who have believed in Jesus for eternal life will be evaluated as to how they lived this life.-(2-Corn. 5:10) If anyone is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when we comes in his glory.-{Luke 9:26} Warns against shrinking back from sharing the Gospel and talking about Jesus.)
