Matthew 14:6-11..Working
14:6 On Herod’s birthday the daughter of Herodias danced for them and pleased Herod so much 7 that he promised with an oath to give her whatever she asked. 8 Prompted by her mother, she said, “Give me here on a platter the head of John the Baptist.” 9 The king was distressed, but because of his oaths and his dinner guests he ordered that her request be granted 10 and had John beheaded (By sword) in the prison. 11 His head was brought in on a platter and given to the girl, who carried it to her mother. Extended Sermons
“Warns if not careful we can make poor decisions to satisfy those around us so we won’t look weak. “ → When faced with pressure from friends, colleagues, or society, it can be tempting to go along with the crowd or make choices that keep us in their favor, even if it means going against our better judgment. However, true strength lies not in pleasing everyone but in standing firm in our convictions, even when it’s uncomfortable or unpopular. This calls us to examine our motives and remember that yielding to outside demands at the expense of our own conscience can lead to regret and unintended consequences. Instead, like those who have gone before us, we are called to act with courage and integrity, trusting that honoring what is right will ultimately yield a far greater reward than the fleeting approval of others.
