“Even today, rather than fear we might offend someone or hurt their feelings, we’re to speak the truth in love, warning people of the danger their taking with their souls.” ⇒ Those who would not hear the doctrine that would Save them, shall be made to hear the sentence that will ruin them.   

More Notes & Applications

Some teach from this that there will be different degrees of punishment in Hell as measured by the amount of light a person receives. Some will have it worse than others. The punishment is not dependent on the severity of the sin a person commits. Rather it is dependent on the revealed truth a person rejects. Which makes coming to a Church that preaches the truth all the more risky if you are not going to step up and allow God to make changes in your life. Greater condemnation for those who are indifferent. Greater condemnation for those who are lukewarm. (cf. Luke 12:47-59, Heb. 10:26-29)

Some try to justify their homosexual lifestyle by claiming that the sin of Sodom & Gomorrah here is not referring to homosexuality, but only of that of inhospitality. (A vast majority reject this interpretation!).
