Continued From Book
Calls for a undivided heart that is not trying to embrace Christ and the world at the same time. ⇔ How long will you continue toying with the same sins: Never giving yourself to them wholly, but never giving yourself to Christ wholly either? Purity of heart is to will one thing…(See James 4:8, Phlip. 3:13-14)
Addiional Notes & Applications
Teaches those who are truly blessed are the ones who are open and honest with God about what is really going on in their lives and the issues we are struggling with.
Teaches Jesus did not come into the world simply because we have some bad habits that need to be broken. He came into the world because we have such dirty hearts that need to be purified.
Purity of heart is to will one thing, namely, God’s truth and God’s value in everything we do. The aim of the pure heart is to align itself with the truth of God and magnify the worth of God. If you want to be pure in heart, pursue God with utter single-mindedness. Purity of heart is to will that one thing.
